Hemp Bill back in Parliament
Date: Wednesday, August 25 2004
Topic: Hemp

Green MP Nandor Tanczos' bill to make it legal to grow low-THC hemp was finally back in Parliament today for its' Second Reading.

The member's bill was drawn from the ballot in 2001 and sent to the Primary Production select committee. The committee refused to hold hearings to consider Nandor's proposed bill.

Nandor gave a great speech during the second reading debate outlining what has happened with industrial hemp in New Zealand in the last three years and how silly it is that the Ministry of Health is responsible for regulating industrial hemp, not the Ministry of Agriculture.
